Russian frigate intercepted near the Strait of Gibraltar
The Spanish Navy ha intercepted and monitored various Russian naval units in transit near the waters of national strategic interest. This was announced today by the Spanish Defence General Staff (EMAD) on its Twitter account - accompanied by original images of the close encounter - specifying that the operation took place in waters close to the Iberian Peninsula and resulted in the deployment of three military vessels: l''Audaz', the 'Vigía' and the 'Serviola'. The objective of the mission was identify, track and document the presence of the Russian ships without any hostile action, but through active and constant monitoring in international waters.

The 'Admiral Grigorovich': an Advanced Warship
Among the ships of the Russian Federation monitored during the operation figure the 'Admiral Grigorovich'a modern missile frigate entered into service in 2016.
