The Italian Army announced today that a contingent of around 300 soldiers from the 186th Parachute Regiment Folgore was deployed from 28 November to 16 December in the municipality of Caivano (NA)at the request of the Prefecture and Police Headquarters of Naplesto support police forces in the execution of a Forcible eviction of 36 squatted dwellings in the Parco Verde district. The operation was a key moment to reaffirm the presence of the State in an area marked by lawlessness and degradation.
Following the preventive seizure orders issued by the Judicial Authority of the Court of Naples North, the Prefecture requested the intervention of the Italian Army, which promptly mobilised a task force of 300 soldiers. The Paratroopers of the 'Thunderbolt' reached the area of the operation in less than 48 hoursimmediately activated to carry out both day and night control activities.
During the operation, the military carried out over 200 patrols and ensured fixed garrisons at five sensitive targets, working in close synergy with the Police Force to ensure public order and safety for residents. To reinforce the effectiveness of the operation, specialised units of the 21st Engineer Guastatori Regiment and the 41st IMINT Regiment 'Cordenonswho provided advanced technical and technological support.
