In Legnago, at the headquarters of the8th Parachute Engineer Regiment Folgore, a ceremony was held to present the department's humerus to 40 new paratroopers. The prestigious symbol was conferred by the regimental commander, Colonel Daniele D'Ambrogiomarking the official entry of the newly assigned soldiers into the large family of the Engineer Corps.
The new combatants, recruited from among permanent service volunteers and volunteers on a four-year fixed-term contract, will become part of a new battalion-level unit. This training is designed to develop combat capabilities in underground environments, an increasingly important strategic area in modern military operations.
