At a significant time for the technological evolution of the Armed Forces, the Army Parachutist General Carmine Masiello, Chief of Staff of the Italian Army recently participated in a demonstration of the 'IMPERIO' Command and Control system. The event took place at the Experimentation and Operational Integration Department of the Ce.Si.Vahighlighting the relevance of digital transformation in the military.
"IMPERIO', already operational in several allied nations and configurable for multi-domain operations, emerges as an important tool in strengthening Command and Control capabilities. Through simulation, the capabilities of 'IMPERIO' to optimise decision-making and operational processes were highlighted.
Specifically, through capacitive simulation, the system's capabilities relating to efficiency in a digitised Brigade command environment were clearly demonstrated, as well as its potential to integrate effectively with various other Command and Control systems.
During his presentation, General Masiello emphasised the need to rapidly adopt a culture that embraces technological progress, which is essential to address the growing complexities of global security scenarios. He emphasised the importance of developing technologies that, in synergy with robust values-based training, raise the Army's operational and readiness standards.
