The Live Exercise (Livex) for snipers, organized and conducted by the 187th Paratroopers Regiment "Folgore", recently concluded at the Carpegna Range (PU). The aim of the activity was to enhance and consolidate long-distance shooting skills of the specialist components of the Paratroopers Brigade "Folgore" and other units of the Italian Army.

A realistic training environment
The exercise took place in a complex operational environment, characterized by high training realism, testing the technical and tactical skills of the snipers. Specialists from the 187th Regiment participated in the activity along with units from the 186th Paratroopers Regiment "Folgore", the 183rd Paratroopers Regiment "Nembo", the "Savoia Cavalleria" Regiment (3rd), the 8th Paratroopers Engineers Regiment "Folgore", the 3rd Alpini Regiment, the 66th Airborne Infantry Regiment "Trieste" of the Airmobile Brigade "Friuli" and the Lagunari Regiment "Serenissima" of the Brigade "Pozzuolo del Friuli".

Advanced shooting techniques
The Italian Army snipers, highly specialized in long-distance precision shooting techniques, tested their skills by operating with different types of weapons against targets at progressive distances, both in daylight and nighttime conditions. The activity required not only perfect technical mastery but also high mental readiness and decision-making ability, essential for operating in high-intensity scenarios.

Mutual exchange and growth
Each phase of the training represented an opportunity for mutual exchange and growth among the various units involved, allowing for the exchange of experiences, methodologies, and best practices. The interaction between units with different specializations optimized resource use and improved the overall effectiveness of operational capabilities, strengthening cooperation among Army units.

This exercise represents another step forward in refining precision shooting techniques, confirming the high level of preparation and versatility of the Italian Army's specialist forces.
