Over 20 nations gathered in Germany to take part in large-scale multinational artillery exercise 'Dynamic Front 25'one of the most important training activities in the NATO context for land artillery. Organised in collaboration with the US 56th Artillery Command and the USAREUR-AF (United States Army Europe and Africa), the exercise took place in parallel in Germany, Finland, Estonia, Poland and Romania, involving thousands of military personnel.
The primary objective of 'Dynamic Front 25' was to test and improve interoperability between the Armed Forces of NATO countries and international partners. In particular, the activity focused on the integration of land artillery communication systems and the joint management of fire missions in both offensive and defensive operations.
The Italian Army deployed an impressive contingent, consisting of units belonging to several Brigades:
- 185th Parachute Artillery Regiment 'Folgore'
- 132nd Artillery Regiment 'Ariete'
- 52nd Artillery Regiment 'Torino'
- Mounted Land Artillery Regiment
These units, coordinated by the Artillery CommandThey formed a multi-system group capable of integrating different assets and technologies. The 185th Parachute Artillery Regiment 'Folgore'in particular, took the lead in tactical activities and fire drill.
The activities of the Italian military began on 27 Octoberwith participation in the Command Post Exercise (CPX). During this phase, the planning, coordination and execution of integrated fire missions was simulated, using the protocol ASCA (Artillery Systems Cooperation Activities). This system allows interoperability between the artillery fire management software of the various nations, enabling seamless joint operations.
In the next phase, the actual fire drill took place, under the guidance of the 185th Parachute Artillery Regiment 'Folgore'which operated within multinational command and control structures. The aim was to standardise procedures, improve fire effectiveness and conduct integrated operations in complex scenarios.
The 185th Parachute Artillery Regiment, reconstituted the 1 July 2013 based in Bracciano, confirms itself as a crucial element for the Parachute Brigade 'Folgore. Thanks to its technical and operational capabilities, the regiment ensures that the brigade can deploy highly specialised devices at short notice in increasingly complex operational contexts.
The participation of the Italian Army in "Dynamic Front 25" testifies to the level of readiness and professionalism of our Armed Forces, which continue to represent a reference point in the international context, contributing to the security and stability of NATO and its partners.
