After three years of service, Lieutenant General Pietro Serino has completed his term as Chief of Staff of the Italian Army.
In a farewell ceremony, General Serino met the military and civilian personnel of the Summit Commands and Departments where he served over the years. During these meetings, tribute was paid to the Flags of War of the Summit/High Commands and thanks were expressed for the work done.
Particularly significant was his greeting to the Transmission Command, the 11th and 1st Transmission Regiments, where General Serino expressed feelings of deep esteem and affection. These departments played a fundamental role in his career and training.
At the same time, General Serino visited the military training institutes, where he encouraged the attending officers and young trainee officers to pursue their goals with determination.
A new chapter opens today with the installation of General Carmine Masiello (he will be officially sworn in on 27 February) as the new Chief of Staff of the Italian Army. General Masiello, the first paratrooper to serve as Chief of Staff of the Army, assumes command with enormous operational experience and a vision oriented towards excellence and innovation.
The Italian Army looks to the future with confidence, knowing it can count on the leadership of General Masiello and the legacy left by General Serino.
