Aircraft accident to military parachutist
Orbetello (GR), 27 March 2025 - A 37-year-old military parachutist was injured on the afternoon of 27 March during an exercise at the Parrina airfield, in the municipality of Orbetello. The accident occurred around 5pm, at the end of a planned jump.
According to an initial reconstruction, the soldier reportedly suffered lower limb fracturesprobably due to the impact with the ground. He was participating in a high-intensity training activity.
An ambulance from the Confraternita di Misericordia (Brotherhood of Mercy) attended the scene, providing first aid and transporting the soldier to Grosseto hospital. Subsequently, given the nature of the injuries, the patient was transferred with helicopter at the polyclinic Le Scotte of Siena.
Investigations are underway to clarify the dynamics of the incident and to verify the correct execution of the safety procedures during the exercise.
