The solemn ceremony for the delivery of the Military Paratrooper Brevet and the Maroon Beret to 220 new paratroopers of the Folgore Brigade took place at the Parachuting Training Center (CAPAR) in Pisa. Among them, 217 Initial Service Volunteers (VFI) completed the intense training course, a fundamental moment for the official entry into the Airborne Troops.

The Chief of Staff of the Army, Gen. C.A. Paratrooper Carmine Masiello, attended the ceremony and addressed the new paratroopers with inspiring words: “This beret is your heart, your muscles, and your rule of life: in the Paratroopers, there is always room for others before ourselves. Folgore!”. A statement that reflects the spirit of sacrifice, unity, and dedication required to be part of the Folgore Paratrooper Brigade.

The Paratrooper Training Course

The training course at CAPAR represents the essential pillar for the training of Paratroopers, focusing on both physical and psychological aspects. The individual training is aimed at developing the skills required for each member of the Airborne Troops, including the ability to operate in isolation, covering long distances with individual equipment and armament, in any weather condition.

The training then continues with the learning of specific Techniques, Tactics, and Procedures (TTP) of the paratrooper units, integrating the new elements into the units where they will be assigned, allowing them to be immediately employed in training and operational activities, while continuing to grow professionally.

The Coveted Maroon Beret

The completion of the technical parachute course, which involves the use of automatic opening parachutes and the execution of five jumps, marks the achievement of the Military Paratrooper Brevet. This moment represents the culmination of the course, granting participants the right to wear the coveted Maroon Beret.

The Folgore Paratrooper Brigade

The “Folgore” Paratrooper Brigade is among the tools available to the Army to ensure the Defense's ability to respond and intervene immediately in crisis and emergency situations, which require the rapid deployment of significant forces capable of operating in all areas of confrontation.
