An intense training activity lasting about three weeks has recently concluded, featuring the 183rd Paratroopers Regiment “Nembo” of the Folgore Paratroopers Brigade, engaged in the training area of Monte Romano (VT). A complex and articulated training cycle aimed at maintaining high standards of operational readiness, cohesion, and command and control capabilities in realistic scenarios.

“Scorpione 7/25”: command, control, and operational realism
The first two weeks took place within the exercise “Scorpione 7/25”, conducted in coordination with the CAT – Tactical Training Center. In this phase, the Nembo paratroopers refined the command and control (C2) procedures operating in a complex environment, made particularly realistic thanks to the use of the center's simulation systems.
The training allowed the command staff to exercise decision-making processes under pressure, improving information management, unit synchronization, and the ability to adapt to the variables of the modern battlefield.

“Grizzano 25”: aerial mobility and offensive operations
The third week was dedicated to the exercise “Grizzano 25”, during which the regiment could rely on the support of the 1st AVES Regiment “Antares”, employing a CH-47 Chinook asset. Thanks to the capabilities of the rotary wing, the Nembo paratroopers conducted airdrops, insertions, and offensive operations, enhancing aerial mobility as a multiplier of tactical effectiveness.
The training event also involved units from the 8th Engineer Sappers Regiment “Folgore”, the 185th Artillery Paratroopers Regiment “Folgore”, the 187th Paratroopers Regiment “Folgore”, the 7th CBRN Defense Regiment “Cremona”, and the 11th Transmission Regiment “Leonessa”, in a fully multidomain context.

“Imperio” system and situational awareness
Patrolling activities — on foot and motorized, day and night — were managed through the command and control system “Imperio”. The use of this tool ensured a situational awareness constantly aligned with the reality of the terrain, allowing commanders to monitor the progress of operations in real-time, accelerate the decision-making cycle, and accurately assess the effectiveness of maneuver units.

ARF and high readiness capabilities
During the training, the procedures of the regiment's unit currently integrated into the ARF – Allied Reaction Force, a multinational and multidomain force with very high operational readiness, deployable with extremely short notice, were consolidated. In particular, the personnel carried out infiltrations via TCL (Free Fall Technique) drop, followed by reconnaissance and target acquisition activities, confirming the unit's ability to operate in depth and independently.

Training as operational assurance
The activity carried out at Monte Romano confirmed the efficiency level of the 183rd “Nembo”, reaffirming the central role of continuous training in ensuring the operational effectiveness of the Folgore Brigade. Professionalism, interoperability, and realism remain the pillars on which the readiness of Italian paratroopers is based, called to operate in increasingly complex and dynamic scenarios.
