Intense training continues alongside allied forces for the Paratroopers Brigade “Folgore”. From May 8 to 25, the Folgore participated in the multinational exercise “Eager Lion 24” in Jordan, deploying the “Savoia Cavalleria” Regiment (3rd) and the 8th Paratrooper Engineers Regiment “Folgore”. The units included a platoon of paratrooper cavalrymen, a JTAC team, two sniper teams, and a platoon of paratrooper engineers with search, breaching, and demolition capabilities.
The “Folgore” Brigade complex was integrated into a multinational Combined Joint Task Force (CJTF), alongside British, Jordanian, American, and Saudi units, allowing for an exchange of skills and tactics and improving interoperability among allied forces.
During the exercise, the CJTF faced a series of complex scenarios aimed at countering an adversary capable of employing conventional and unconventional means. The training concluded with a final tactical act, characterized by a Combined Arms approach.
The training activities included operations in urban areas, the use of snipers, reactions to UAV threats, and breaching and demolition activities. These modules allowed for the simulation of realistic combat situations, enhancing the operational capabilities of the participants.
The exercise “Eager Lion 24” achieved its main objective: increasing interoperability among units of friendly and allied countries in a realistic training context.
