The Corps Day of the 32nd Tank Regiment took place in recent days, an event that coincides with the 85th anniversary of the Battle of Beda Fomm, fought in February 1941 in North Africa by the tank crews of the III and V M13/40 Tank Battalions.

On this occasion, the Regiment assembled in arms on the parade ground of the Arduino Forgiarini Barracks, honoring those men who, “aware of their destiny and far greater than their misfortune,” were able to write one of the highest pages in Italian military history. In conditions of clear numerical and technological inferiority, the tank crews faced the adversary with indomitable courage, demonstrating a spirit of sacrifice and determination that still today represent a moral heritage for the Italian Army.

During the ceremony, the 50th Regiment Commander, Colonel Terenzio Mazzei, expressed his gratitude to the civil and military authorities present, as well as to the representatives of the Combat and Arms Associations, emphasizing the strong bond that unites the unit with the institutions and the territory.

In his speech, the Commander also reiterated the centrality of the armored component within modern deterrence and integrated defense systems of the Euro-Atlantic spaces. A role made possible by the extremely high preparation and operational readiness of the crews, the result of intense and continuous training, also aimed at the formation of rapidly deployable force packages capable of operating effectively in any operational context.

The Corps Day of the 32nd Tank Regiment thus confirms itself not only as a moment of historical commemoration but also as an occasion to reaffirm the values, professionalism, and spirit of service that continue to guide Italian tank crews in the present and towards future challenges.
