The body of General Enrico Celentano, former Commander of the Folgore from 1997 to 1999, who passed away yesterday April 28, 2025, at 6:30 PM after the resurgence of a long illness, will be displayed at the mortuary of the "Le Scotte" Hospital in Siena.
It will be possible to pay respects from 12:00 PM today, April 29, 2025, until the end of tomorrow, April 30, 2025.
By the express wish of the family, the funeral will be held in a strictly private manner, in full respect of their privacy.
This was announced through a Facebook post by Retired General Sergio Fucito, a historical figure of the 186th Paratroopers Regiment Folgore, a unit that General Celentano, then a Colonel, commanded between 1992 and 1994.
General Celentano embodied throughout his career the values of the Folgore: discipline, courage, loyalty. His figure remains indelible in the memory of those who had the honor to serve alongside him and the entire family of the Baschi Amaranto of Italy.
To him goes our thoughts, and our proud salute, at attention, in a formal and disciplined manner, as True Paratroopers: “Blue Skies, General!"
