The ceremony that officially marked the transfer of the 184th Command and Tactical Support Unit “Nembo” to the new location, situated within the “Vannucci” Barracks, took place today, July 30, 2026, at the “Rugiadi” Barracks in Livorno.
The ceremony was attended by the commander of the Paratroopers Brigade “Folgore”, Brigadier General Dario Paduano, local authorities, and representatives of veterans and military associations.
The Rugiadi Barracks hosted the unit for years, responsible for providing technical, tactical, and logistical support to the Command of the Paratroopers Brigade “Folgore”.
The transfer to the Vannucci Barracks was arranged with the aim of optimizing the functionality, organization, and employment of the 184th “Nembo”. The change of location will not entail any modifications to the unit's structure or its institutional tasks, which will continue to focus on operational and logistical support to the Brigade Command.
The Rugiadi Barracks will become a modern accommodation hub
With the transfer of the unit, the Rugiadi Barracks is preparing to undergo a profound transformation.
The military infrastructure will undergo a significant restructuring and redevelopment plan, aimed at transforming it into a modern accommodation hub for Armed Forces personnel.
The interventions will allow the buildings to be adapted to the latest livability standards, optimize space management, improve energy efficiency, and completely renovate the facilities intended for military accommodation.
The project confirms the Army's commitment to improving the living and working conditions of the men and women in uniform, through modern, efficient infrastructures that meet the needs of the personnel.
