The Paratrooper Officer Enrico Barduani has been promoted to Lieutenant General, crowning an outstanding career both nationally and internationally.
A graduate of the Military School “Nunziatella” in Naples, and belonging to the 170th Course of the Military Academy of Modena, he attended the Military Academy of Modena and the Application School in Turin. Appointed Second Lieutenant of Cavalry in 1990, he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1992.
An outstanding career in national and international fields
Assigned to the 5th Cavalry Regiment “Lancieri di Novara”, he commanded reconnaissance units until 1997. Subsequently, he served as an instructor at the Cavalry School and the RISTA (Reconnaissance, Surveillance, and Target Acquisition) Training Center.
In 2008, promoted to Lieutenant Colonel, he took command of a Squadron of the 6th Regiment “Lancieri di Aosta”. In 2013, he was appointed Commander of the Paratrooper Cavalry Regiment “Savoia” (3rd), a unit of the Paratrooper Brigade “Folgore”.
Between 2015 and 2016, he served in Kosovo as Chief of Staff to the KFOR Commander. Returning to Italy, he held the position of Head of the Public Information Office at the Office of the Chief of Defense Staff.
Promoted to Brigadier General in 2018, in 2019 he assumed command of the illustrious 132nd Armored Brigade “Ariete”, subsequently leading the TAAC-West in Herat (Afghanistan) as part of the NATO mission Resolute Support.
From 2020 to 2022, he served as Chief of Staff to the Chairman of the European Union Military Committee in Brussels. Returning to Italy, he was Deputy Chief of Staff to the Minister of Defense for Military Policy Affairs and Director for Italian Defense Policy.
From 2024 to 2025, he commanded the NATO Kosovo Force (KFOR), returning to Pristina as Mission Commander.
He participated in operations in Italy, Kosovo, Iraq, Lebanon, and Afghanistan, holding prestigious command and operational planning positions.
