4th Ranger, visit of the FOTER Operations Area Commander

The Deputy Commander of the Land Forces and Head of the Operational Area, Army Corps General Salvatore Cuocivisited the 4th Regiment Alpini Parachutists RANGERstationed in Verona. The General was received by the Regimental Commander, Colonel Igor Panebiancoand Brigadier General Marco Manzoneleading the Army Special Forces.

After the salute of honour, the General started the meeting with a briefing dedicated to the unit, followed by an interview with the military personnel. In his speech, he emphasised the strategic importance of preparation and training for the success of the missions assigned to the unit, also reiterating the high level of professionalism and expertise that characterises the Special Forces contingent.

Afterwards, the General awarded honours and promotions to military personnel who distinguished themselves for exceptional merits, expressing gratitude for their constant commitment and dedication. As the visit continued, he witnessed an operational simulation conducted by a Ranger unit, carefully analysing the methods and capabilities used to assess their effectiveness and level of readiness.

The meeting at the 4th Regiment ended with the signing of the Roll of Honour in the Commandant's office and a visit to the former Caserma Chiarle in Castelnuovo del Garda to examine possible future training projects.

The 4th Alpini Parachute Regiment 'Ranger' is an Army Special Forces unit, capable of planning and conducting the entire spectrum of Special Operations. Its main activities include advanced reconnaissance missions, direct actions and military support to allied forces. Thanks to its targeted preparation, the unit stands out in particular for its high competence in combat in extreme environments, with a unique specialisation in operations in mountainous and Arctic territories.

Within the Army Special Forces, the 4th Regiment is the unit with the greatest expertise in deployment in mountainous scenarios. Education and training in this context are a central element of the personnel preparation process, guaranteeing a high level of operational capability in the most hostile environmental conditions.
