The final training phase of the 1st year of the 206th Course “Dignità” at the Military Academy of Modena concluded at the training area of Monti di Sant’Andrea of the Infantry School. The final test was attended by the Academy Commander, Major General Stefano Messina. The young Officer Cadets were engaged in high-intensity technical-professional activities to refine their ability to plan and employ, in an integrated manner, different assets within a combat scenario typical of squad commanders.

Training objectives
Develop squad-level leadership, rapid planning, priority management, and simultaneous coordination of multiple units in a complex and dynamic operational context.

Digital battlefield management
The core of the exercise was the use of digital command and control systems that allowed continuous updates of the operational situation and the conduct of multi-domain maneuvers, promptly integrating information from specialized assets.

Advanced simulation and realism
New generation simulation systems reproduced a highly realistic scenario, placing the Cadets in front of the challenges of simultaneously conducting multiple capabilities on the “field”, with rapid decision-action-assessment cycles.

Assets employed
- Quadcopters of the 41st Regiment for observation and decision support.
- Engineering units for mobility and counter-mobility.
- Rotary-wing platforms CH-47 and AH-149 of the 6th and 1st AVES Regiment for transport, maneuver, and support.
- Drones (UAS) and counter-interdiction systems (C-UAS) of the 17th Regiment for information superiority and force protection.

In summary
“Una Acies 2025” confirms the centrality of digitalization and simulation as training multipliers: indispensable tools to train commanders capable of operating in technologically complex environments, enhancing inter-arm integration and shortening the time between training and operational readiness.
- Training oriented towards the reality of the digital battlefield.
- Integration of heterogeneous assets under a single C2 framework.
- Advanced simulation for faster and more effective decisions.
With “Una Acies 2025”, the Italian Army strengthens a modern command school: data-oriented, interoperable, and ready to face the multi-domain challenges of the present and near future.
