The Commander of Land Operational Forces, Lieutenant General Lorenzo D’Addario, met on 1 October 2026 with troops of the LUAM Grouping (Lazio, Umbria, Abruzzo and Marche), deployed in Rome for Operation Strade Sicure.
During the visit, D’Addario was accompanied by the Grouping Commander, Brigadier General Paolo Dalle Vedove. The general spoke with the Army men and women serving at the capital’s most sensitive sites, in coordination with law enforcement agencies.
D’Addario expressed appreciation for the personnel’s service and commitment. He also emphasized the deterrent role of the deployed forces and their contribution to citizens’ sense of security.
Security at sensitive sites
As part of Operation Strade Sicure, the Army works alongside the Police Forces to secure the territory and major metropolitan areas. Activities include the surveillance of sensitive sites through static and mobile security patrols.
The force is deployed to support the security of the national community, helping combat crime and prevent potential terrorist attacks.
