A Challenge for Global Special Forces: the 14th Annual Warrior Competition 2025 at KASOTC

In the heart of the spectacular Jordan rock formations, north of Amman, special forces and police units from all over the world are preparing for one of the most prestigious competitions in the field of special operations. The KASOTC (King Abdullah II Special Operations Training Centre) hosts the 14th Annual Warrior Competitionan event to be held from 22 to 26 June 2025with the full support of the Jordan Armed Forces (JAF). This annual event is one of the most important moments for the international special forces community, offering all participating units a unique challenge and an opportunity to improve their capabilities.

An Advanced Special Forces Training Centre
KASOTC is one of the most advanced special forces training facilities in the world. With an area of 25 square kilometres and a value of 200 million dollarsthe centre is an example of high technology and innovation. KASOTC's facilities are designed to simulate real war conditions, allowing trainers to train special forces in irregular warfare, counter-terrorism and special operations techniques. Advanced technologies, such as the fibre-optic network system, are used to coordinate hundreds of cameras and war simulations, providing a realistic training experience.
The centre was realised with the vision of His Majesty King Abdullah IIwho personally worked on curriculum planning and facility design, recognising the importance of adequate preparation against the modern challenges of terrorism and asymmetric warfare. KASOTC is not just a school for Jordanian special forces, but a facility at the service of allies and international partners, able to adapt to the needs of each 'client', i.e. defence forces requiring specific training.

The Annual Competition: An Endurance and Skills Test
The annual competition is considered one of the most relevant at international level, testing the individual skills of team members as well as their ability to work together to plan and execute extremely difficult tasks. Each team, consisting of eight members (five competitors, two reserves and one team leader), is called upon to overcome a series of realistic scenarios simulating the most difficult battle conditions.
Teams must bring their own weapons, equipment and gear, while KASOTC will provide free ammunition and accommodation for all participants. Food and drinks are available on site, but will be the responsibility of the individual teams. During the competition, teams compete in urban warfare scenarios, building raids and training in difficult terrain, such as swamps and mountains, similar to what they might face during field operations. In addition, KASOTC has a number of facilities, including a replica of an Afghan village and a house to simulate indoor combat.

This competition offers participants a unique opportunity to test their skills in a highly realistic environment, where any mistake could have devastating consequences. However, the value of this experience lies in improving one's skills and preparing oneself to face any real combat situation.
An Unmissable Event for the Global Armed Forces
La 14th Annual Warrior Competition promises to be one of the most exciting and demanding challenges of the year, a competition that promises to strengthen the ties between special forces around the world and improve their ability to deal with global threats. KASOTC officially invites all armed forces to participate, recognising the importance of this competition in improving operational capabilities and strengthening international cooperation.
Participating in this competition is not just about winning, but about learning, improving and sharing experiences with the world's best special forces. Every movement during training is filmed and analysed in detail, allowing participants to perfect their techniques in a high-quality educational environment. According to the Colonel Ibrahim Alharahsheh, Deputy Director of KASOTC, "Each operation is reviewed with trainers and industry experts to discuss what went well and what can be improved."
The competition is not only a test of skill, but also an opportunity to strengthen ties between different nations and improve collective defence capabilities. KASOTC has already demonstrated how its training approach can be of great value even for countries with limited resources, as in the case of a recent training with Palestinian special forces, which demonstrated significant progress in a short time.
La 14th Annual Warrior Competition represents a unique opportunity for armed forces around the world to test their capabilities in realistic and challenging scenarios. With the support of the King Abdullah II and the Jordanian Armed Forces, this competition is not just a sporting event, but an opportunity to enhance the preparedness and operational capabilities of global special forces. The invitation is issued: participate and join the challenge to strengthen your ability to face the toughest challenges of the modern world.
