Parachuting Accident Involving Military Paratrooper

Orbetello (GR), March 27, 2025 – A 37-year-old military paratrooper was injured on the afternoon of March 27 during an exercise at the Parrina airfield, in the municipality of Orbetello. The accident occurred around 5 PM, at the end of a scheduled jump.

According to an initial reconstruction, the soldier sustained fractures to the lower limbs, likely due to the impact with the ground. He was participating in a high-intensity training activity.

An ambulance from the Confraternita di Misericordia arrived on the scene, providing first aid and transporting the soldier to the hospital in Grosseto. Subsequently, given the nature of the injuries, the patient was transferred by air ambulance to the Le Scotte di Siena polyclinic.

Investigations are underway to clarify the dynamics of the incident and verify the correct implementation of the safety procedures required during the exercise.
