The sky above La Spezia became the stage for the raiders of the COMSUBIN on the occasion of the 101st edition of the Palio del Golfo, a historic event that every year attracts hundreds of enthusiasts to the Ligurian seafront.
During the event, the operators of the Operational Raiders Group of the Navy performed several water jumps using the free fall technique, offering the public a concrete demonstration of the operational capabilities and the high level of training achieved by the unit.
The parachute jump represents one of the numerous methods through which the raiders can be rapidly deployed in an operational area, both on land and in a maritime environment.
The ability to operate from the sky, from the sea, and on land
The Operational Raiders Group of the COMSUBIN is tasked with tackling particularly complex missions at sea, from the sea, and on land, often operating in hostile, sensitive, or hard-to-reach environments.
The ability to infiltrate by parachute jump allows operators to quickly reach coastal areas, bodies of water, or terrestrial targets, maintaining surprise, flexibility, and operational autonomy.
These are capabilities that require constant and rigorous preparation, built through multidisciplinary training that includes underwater activities, parachute jumps, navigation, infiltration, and combat across the spectrum of special operations.

During the exhibition, the public also witnessed the in-flight opening of the Navy flag, greeted with enthusiasm by those present on the seafront.
A symbolic gesture that accompanied the parachute jump of the COMSUBIN raiders and reminded everyone that behind every operational capability of the Armed Force are sailors who train and operate every day with professionalism, courage, and a spirit of sacrifice.
