At the “Ettore Rosso” Barracks, in the military city of Cecchignola, the handover ceremony at the top of the Engineers Command took place between Major General Giuseppe Bossa and Brigadier General Gianluca Dello Monaco.
The event, presided over by the Commander of the Detachment of the Support Terrestrial Operational Forces Command, Lieutenant General Giovanni Gagliano, was attended by numerous civil and military authorities, as well as representatives of Combat and Weapon Associations.
In his address, General Bossa reviewed the most significant milestones of his command, focusing on efforts to strengthen operational capabilities through the adoption of new technologies, continuous training, and the adaptation of operational techniques and procedures, with the aim of enhancing the skills of the Engineers Corps in a complex international context.
In his concluding speech, General Gagliano highlighted the need to “renew the capabilities of the Engineers,” insisting that the evolution of technical and operational skills must remain at the center of the future path of a Corps that combines tradition and excellence.

A Paratrooper Officer in Command
It is worth noting that General Gianluca Dello Monaco is a paratrooper officer and that in his career he commanded the 8th Paratrooper Sapper Engineers Regiment “Folgore”.
During his command, the regiment actively operated both nationally, in support of public utility and emergency operations, and in international theaters, confirming the centrality of the unit in the missions of the Italian Army.
With the handover, the Engineers Corps thus retains leadership that combines experience gained in the paratrooper world with a deep knowledge of the technical skills necessary to face future challenges.
