For General Masiello, it was a particularly significant return. In fact, it was in the 185th Regiment that the current Chief of Staff of the Army took his first steps in his career as a paratrooper artillery officer, later also assuming command of the unit.

In a message posted on X at the end of the visit, General Masiello wrote: «Returning among the “Diavoli Gialli”, with whom I took my first steps as a paratrooper artillery officer, is a source of great pride».

The Chief of Staff then expressed appreciation for the Regiment's personnel, highlighting their professionalism, capacity for innovation, and willingness to remain at the forefront.

«Your professionalism, capacity to innovate, and willingness to always be at the forefront demonstrate the spirit, will, and commitment in representing an excellence of the Army», he added in the post.

The visit also represented a moment of meeting with the personnel and an in-depth look at the operational and training activities of the unit, tasked with providing fire support to the units of the Paratrooper Brigade “Folgore”.

The 185th Regiment preserves the traditions of the paratrooper artillerymen who fought during the Second World War and, in particular, in the battle of El Alamein. Today, the “Diavoli Gialli” constitute a fundamental component of the operational capability of the “Folgore” Brigade, with personnel and systems designed to operate in high-intensity contexts and environments characterized by increasing integration between sensors, command systems, and fire capabilities.

General Masiello's visit to Bracciano was therefore not only an institutional meeting but a true return to the origins, in one of the units that most marked his human and professional journey within the Italian Army.
