Spresiano, Army Bomb Disposal Experts Neutralize a 296-Kilogram Aerial Bomb

The bomb disposal experts of the Italian Army intervened in the municipal area of Spresiano, in the province of Treviso, to secure an aerial bomb dating back to the Second World War.

The ordnance, found along the Piave river, had a total weight of 296 kilograms and contained 94 kilograms of high-explosive material. Its size and characteristics required a particularly delicate operation, conducted by specialized military personnel.

Transfer and Neutralization in Cimadolmo

After adopting all necessary safety measures, the bomb disposal experts proceeded with the movement and transfer of the bomb to the nearby municipality of Cimadolmo, also in the province of Treviso.

Here, the ordnance was definitively neutralized, eliminating the danger to the population and the surrounding area.

The operation required technical preparation, precision, and close coordination among the personnel involved in the different phases of the intervention.

The discovery confirms that, more than eighty years after the end of the Second World War, unexploded ordnance potentially still dangerous continues to emerge in Italian territory.

The interventions by the Army bomb disposal experts thus represent an important activity in the service of the community, carried out to ensure the safety of citizens and allow the complete clearance of the affected areas.
