The Commander of Land Operating Forces (FOTER), General of Corps of Army Parachutist Lorenzo D'Addario, has continued his cycle of visits to Army military personnel engaged in Operation "Safe Roads", meeting personnel deployed in operational groupings in the North West area of the Country.
The visit to the Piedmont-Liguria Grouping
The first stop involved the Piedmont-Liguria Grouping. General D'Addario met with personnel at Bellinzago Novarese, then proceeded to reach some of the military personnel employed in surveillance activities in the city of Turin.
An opportunity to directly verify operational conditions and engage with the men and women of the Army who daily contribute, together with Police Forces, to the security of sensitive objectives and areas.
At Chiomonte with military personnel engaged in securing the TAV construction site
The Commander of FOTER then went to the "Val Susa-Valle d'Aosta" Grouping, currently under the command of the 1st Mountain Artillery Regiment.
Here he met with Army personnel engaged in security activities in the area of the TAV high-speed rail construction site in Chiomonte, in Val di Susa.
This is one of the assignments that requires continuous presence on the territory and constant coordination with other components responsible for area security.
Direct engagement with personnel
The visits allowed General D'Addario to directly engage with military personnel employed in the "Safe Roads" Operation, deepening the ways in which the various tasks assigned to units are carried out.
The Commander of FOTER emphasized the value of the contribution provided daily by Army personnel to the country's security and the protection of citizens.
A commitment that continues without interruption and that requires professionalism, operational readiness and the ability to intervene and operate in different conditions and contexts.
"Safe Roads", a daily presence on the territory
Operation "Safe Roads" has represented for years one of the most visible commitments of the Armed Forces on the national territory.
Army military personnel are deployed in support of Police Forces in the surveillance of infrastructure, sensitive objectives and areas considered of particular interest for security.
The visits by the Commander of FOTER to the various groupings therefore also represent a moment of closeness to the personnel who daily perform this service, often far from their units of origin and with continuous rotations on the territory.
