Newly qualified military personnel to operate in the staff and logistical support components of the San Marco Marine Brigade have received the characteristic gray-green beret with a red emblem, symbolizing membership in the amphibious component of the Navy.

The ceremony concluded the 30th Amphibious Qualification Course “Staff and Logistical Supports”, a training program aimed at officers and personnel from various Corps and categories of the Navy destined to support the operational activities of the Landing Force.

The participants completed the course at the “Caorle” Battalion Schools, the “Fucina Leonis” of the San Marco Marine Brigade, undergoing preparation aimed at developing the necessary skills to operate in a complex and particularly demanding amphibious environment.

The course is not intended for the training of riflemen of the 1st San Marco Regiment, but for personnel called to fill roles in command, planning, and specialized and logistical support. Essential figures to ensure continuity of operations conducted by the Brigade in terrestrial, naval, and amphibious environments, both on national territory and in international missions.

The Decisive Role of Logistics in Amphibious Operations

An amphibious operation indeed requires a complex integration between naval units, landing detachments, aircraft, communications, transportation, healthcare, supplies, and maintenance. Staff and logistical support personnel must know not only their specialized skills but also the procedures and characteristic challenges of sea-based deployment.

For this reason, the training path includes physical tests, technical-professional activities, land training, and moments aimed at verifying psychophysical endurance and the ability to work under pressure.

The preparation received allows the newly qualified to fully integrate into the organization of the San Marco Marine Brigade, contributing to the planning and support of the Landing Force's operations.

The awarding of the beret thus represents not only the conclusion of a course but the official entry into the family of the “Lions” of San Marco and the assumption of a new responsibility in the service of the Navy and the Country.
