From July 25 to 27, 2025, the World Circuit “Marco Simoncelli” in Misano Adriatico hosted a special stage of the Italian Speed Championship (CIV), made even more significant by the structured and dynamic presence of the Italian Army. Thousands of visitors, motorcycle enthusiasts, and families were able to experience an immersive experience within the military exhibition area, coming into direct contact with the culture of Defense.
The Army participated in the event with a wide range of demonstrative activities and operational assets on display, involving units highly representative of the technical and sporting capabilities of the Armed Forces. The Paratroopers Brigade “Folgore”, in particular, attracted great attention through practical demonstrations of the Military Combat Method (MCM) and Military Fitness, actively involving the public in interactive sessions that highlighted the physical and mental preparation required of service members.

The initiative, coordinated by the Army Military Command “Emilia-Romagna”, also included a fundamental informative component: an area dedicated to career orientation in the Armed Forces. Visitors received detailed information on competitions for the Military Academy of Modena, the Non-Commissioned Officers School of Viterbo, and the Military Schools “Nunziatella” of Naples and “Teuliè” of Milan, as well as the opportunities offered to become Initial Service Volunteers (VFI).
Strengthening interaction with the public was Radio Esercito, the institutional web radio that broadcasted the event live, alternating music, insights, interviews, and moments of dialogue with the spectators, in a fresh and engaging style.
The paratroopers' airdrop: a symbolic gesture full of meaning
Among the most spectacular and exciting moments of the motorcycle weekend, the airdrop of the paratroopers from the Italian Army Sports Activities Unit dominated, as they jumped from an NH90 Army Aviation helicopter, flying over the circuit with extraordinary precision.

The landing took place directly on the track, where the three soldiers carried three banners: the Tricolor, the institutional logo of the Italian Army, and that of the Italian Motorcycle Federation (FMI). In particular, one of the paratroopers explained to the public the meaning of the gigantic Tricolor opened in flight: a visible sign of national identity, professionalism, and team spirit.
The exhibition reached its climax when the checkered flag was handed over to the FMI Speed Coordinator. More than a symbol of “end of race”, the checkered flag, in this context, represented sacrifice, passion, victory and the common ideal between sport and military service. This gesture consolidated the bond between the Army and the Italian Motorcycle Federation, already sealed by a memorandum of understanding aimed at promoting shared values such as discipline, technical preparation, respect for rules, and esprit de corps.
The paratroopers' flight was not just a technical demonstration, but a powerful visual message aimed particularly at the youth: expressing the best of oneself is possible, both on the race fields and in military life, through talent and commitment.
Shared values and educational mission: Defense between sport and society
The participation of the Italian Army in the CIV 2025 in Misano was not an isolated episode, but part of a broad strategy consistent with the mission of bringing the Armed Forces closer to civil society. The agreement with the Italian Motorcycle Federation is part of a series of initiatives aimed at valuing sport as an educational and social vehicle, capable of conveying positive messages to the new generations.
In a context like motorcycling, where speed, control, dedication, and fair play are fundamental, the Italian Army found fertile ground to tell its story in an authentic and modern way. The operational demonstrations, professional orientation, and interactive activities made the message concrete: serving the State is a life choice based on solid values and real skills.

The public success of the initiative — with tens of thousands of attendees over the three days — demonstrates how the combination of sport and Defense is more relevant today than ever. The promotion of a culture of safety, respect for rules, attention to physical and mental preparation, are elements that unite athletes and soldiers, and that can become a powerful educational lever to engage young people in paths of conscious growth.
Misano offered the Italian Army an ideal stage to tell its story and engage with the citizenry. The synergy between motorcycling and the culture of Defense gave life to an event where sporting passion, national pride, and service spirit merged into a common language. An initiative that made the human, competent, and modern face of the Italian Army visible and tangible.
