After three years of service, General of the Army Corps Pietro Serino has concluded his term as Chief of Staff of the Italian Army.
In a farewell ceremony, General Serino met with the military and civilian personnel of the Command Headquarters and Units where he served over the years. During these meetings, tribute was paid to the War Flags of the Command Headquarters/High Commands and thanks were expressed for the work done.
Particularly significant was the farewell to the Transmission Command, the 11th and 1st transmission regiments, where General Serino expressed feelings of deep esteem and affection. These units played a fundamental role in his career and training.
In parallel, General Serino visited the military training institutes, where he encouraged the attending Officers and young Cadet Officers to pursue their goals with determination.
Today marks the beginning of a new chapter with the appointment of General Carmine Masiello (he will be officially appointed on February 27) as the new Chief of Staff of the Italian Army. General Masiello, the first paratrooper as Chief of Staff of the Army, assumes command with vast operational experience and a vision oriented towards excellence and innovation.
The Italian Army looks to the future with confidence, knowing it can rely on the leadership of General Masiello and the legacy left by General Serino.
