The strategic role of the Logistic Command
Logistics is the silent yet indispensable heart of every modern Armed Force. Without an efficient system of support, supply, health, transport, and maintenance, no military operation would be possible, either at home or abroad. In this context, the Logistic Command represents one of the strategic peaks of the Italian Army, with the responsibility for the logistic organization of the entire Armed Forces.
Under its command operate four specialist Commands of primary importance – Transport and Materials, Commissariat, Health and Veterinary, and Technical – in addition to the Logistic Support Command and the “Celio” Military Polyclinic in Rome. The Logistic Command also coordinates the Central Inspection Unit, fundamental for ensuring the efficiency and uniformity of logistic services throughout the national territory.
The arrival of General Ristuccia at the helm of this body is not by chance, but the natural recognition of a career conducted with the highest professionalism and strategic vision. At the command of a vital unit for the functioning of the entire military instrument, General Ristuccia brings solid skills, operational experience, and a marked capacity for innovation. Under his leadership, the Logistic Command is preparing to further strengthen its action in support of the operational capabilities of the Armed Forces, focusing on efficiency, modernization, and joint integration, key elements to face the challenges of the present and the future.
