The Strategic Role of the Logistics Command

Logistics is the silent but indispensable heart of any modern Armed Force. Without an efficient support, supply, health, transport and maintenance system, no military operation would be possible, neither at home nor across borders. In this context, the Comando Logistico represents one of the strategic summits of the Italian Army, with responsibility for the logistics organisation of the entire Armed Force.

Four major specialised commands operate under it - Transport and Materials, Commissariat, Health and Veterinary, and Technical - as well as the Logistic Support Command and the 'Celio' Military Hospital in Rome. The Logistics Command also coordinates the Central Inspection Unit, which is fundamental to guarantee the efficiency and homogeneity of logistics services throughout the national territory.

General Ristuccia's arrival at the helm of this body is not the result of chance, but the natural recognition of a career conducted with the highest professionalism and strategic vision. At the command of a unit that is vital for the functioning of the entire military instrument, General Ristuccia brings solid skills, operational experience and a marked capacity for innovation. Under his leadership, the Logistics Command is preparing to further strengthen its action in support of the operational capabilities of the Armed Force, focusing on efficiency, modernisation and inter-force integration, key elements to face the challenges of the present and the future.
