The Chief of Staff of the Army, General of the Army Corps Carmine Masiello, visited the “Vittorio Veneto” Division, where he was welcomed by Major General Massimiliano Quarto. During the visit, General Masiello received a detailed report on the progress of the Multinational Division South (MND-S) and the preparation of the Division Command, which from July 1, 2025, will assume the role of Land Component Command within the Allied Reaction Force (ARF LCC).
After the briefing, the General met with the Division personnel and the soldiers of the 78th Command and Logistics Support Unit “Lupi di Toscana”, addressing them with words of appreciation: “You have faced NATO standards with determination, demonstrating professionalism and dedication. The achievements reached are a source of pride for all of us. Your work reflects the tireless commitment and high competence that distinguish the Army, in line with our values. Keep on this path”.
Recently, the “Vittorio Veneto” Division successfully completed the NATO exercise “Steadfast Dagger 2024”, concluding a long process of operational evaluation (Combat Readiness Evaluation) essential both for its role within the ARF and for its development as MND-S. However, training activities will continue intensively in the first half of 2025, during which the Division will be engaged in a cycle of exercises aimed at testing the ability to deploy the Command Post in different operational contexts. This path will culminate with the simulation “Golden Lion 2025” and participation in the exercise “Steadfast Cobalt 25”, crucial for the configuration of communication infrastructures and information systems.
The training challenges of the coming months will be crucial for the future of the Division, which is approaching the milestone of activation as a NATO Command and achieving Full Mission Capability (FMC).
