The U.S. specialist B. E. Meyers & Co. Inc. has secured a significant contract from the U.S. Army for the supply of 8,936 DAGIR-V1 systems, aimed at meeting the specific requirements of the "M7 Surrogate Fire Control Program".

The U.S. specialist B. E. Meyers & Co. Inc. received a contract for 8,936 DAGIR-V1 systems from the U.S. Army's PM Soldier Lethality (PM SL) division, under the leadership of the "Capability Program Executive – Ground Soldier Systems" (CPE-G). The announcement was made by the manufacturer on June 30, 2026. The supply meets the specific requirements of the U.S. Army within the "M7 Surrogate Fire Control Program". Deliveries will take place in the government fiscal year 2027 through the Defense Logistics Agency's (DLA) "Tailored Logistics Support" (TLS) program.

The DAGIR series, consisting of laser targeting systems and illuminators for the infrared and visible spectrum, is based on advanced VCSEL technology and is designed for use on multiple platforms. This product family represents the latest generation of photonic solutions from B. E. Meyers & Co. for illumination and target acquisition in the near-infrared (NIR) on weapon systems. According to the company, the U.S. Army's decision came after rigorous tests, evaluations, and feedback from soldiers.

Technological features and MINIRVA diode system

The heart of the DAGIR-V1 is the MINIRVA diode system, based on advanced VCSEL (Vertical Cavity Surface Emitting Laser) technology, which ensures extraordinary beam precision and image clarity. This optical unit provides sharper and more precise illumination, enhancing target identification, situational awareness, and threat assessment in various operational scenarios. The DAGIR laser range thus represents a significant step forward in multifunctional targeting and illumination system technology.

The system combines a near-infrared illuminator with both NIR and visible targeting lasers within a compact and robust housing.

Adoption by USSOCOM and advanced variants

The United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM) had previously selected the DAGIR-V1 under the SAL-UHP program, with the specific variant for special forces named LA-30. The DAGIR-V2, equipped with an additional button for visible laser override, was also adopted by USSOCOM under the "Miniature Aiming Laser – Ultra High Power" (MAL-UHP) program.
