BrigataFolgore.net salutes 2024: 12 articles in 12 months

As we head into a new year, it is time to look forward to the events of 2024.  BrigadeFolgore.net ha continuato a crescere e a sostenere la sua missione di raccontare la storia, i valori e l’attualità dei Paracadutisti d’Italia.

2024 was a historic year for our beloved Brigade and for all Parachutists of every era and generation. On 15 February, for the first time since the existence of the Parachutists' specialty in Italy, a Chief of Staff from the Amaranth Basque was appointed: Gen. C.A. Carmine Masiello.

Then, the intense and relentless year-long training led the Brigade, in September, to experience a strategic change of epochal proportions: the passage under the direct dependencies of COMFOTER, eliminating intermediate commands and aligning the legendary Parachute Brigade with elite units such as COMFOSE (Comando delle Forze Speciali dell'Esercito - Army Special Forces Command) and the Army Aviation Command.

Because, ladies and gentlemen, the Folgore is not an ordinary infantry unit. Get over it.

The change of Brigade Commander, which took place in October 2024 with the alternation between General Mongillo and General Bernacca, marks the continuity of excellence in the Brigade's command.

Instead, the new paratroopers, 171 to be exact, who donned the legendary Basco Amaranto a few weeks ago, embody the future.

The Folgore is there. It has always been there and it will be there again tomorrow, stronger than ever.
