The Apollo 2026 and Capricorno 5/2026 exercises began in recent days at the Capo Teulada training area. The activities involve the 32° reggimento carri and the 11° reggimento bersaglieri, respectively, both assigned to Brigata Ariete.
At the start of the training, the Comandante per la Validazione e Integrazione dell'Esercito, lieutenant general Francesco OLLA, underscored the role of tanks and heavy forces in current operational scenarios.
The general also highlighted the importance of combined-arms simulation systems and training areas such as Capo Teulada.
Preparation ahead of live-fire activities
The initial phase focused on preparing weapon systems and conducting individual and basic training. The process is intended to ensure the progression needed to foster cohesion among the various units and standardize operating procedures.
Live-fire exercises up to tactical group level are scheduled for the coming weeks. The activities are designed to improve combat capabilities in a warfighting environment and will continue until the end of October.
