On Wednesday, November 5, in Bassano del Grappa, the Paratroopers of the local ANPd’I Section (Associazione Nazionale Paracadutisti d'Italia) delivered the Italian Flag to the “Antonio Remondini” High School. This was announced by the national ANPd’I website, specifying that the Tricolor—blessed at the Sacello della Madonna del Grappa—was entrusted to the students and teaching staff as a concrete sign of continuity between generations and a testimony to the values of freedom, unity, and love for the Homeland.
The ceremony was attended by Mayor Nicola Finco, Army Corps General (res.) Gianfranco Rossi, teachers, students, and a representation of the Paratroopers. Placed close to November 2 (commemoration of the deceased) and November 4 (National Unity and Armed Forces Day), the initiative took on an even deeper meaning: to remember those who served the Nation and to call the younger generations to the responsibility of memory.
ANPd’I: a bridge between the military world and civil society
The flag is not just a symbol, but a daily commitment. Entering the classrooms of Remondini, the Tricolor reminds us that citizenship and participation begin at school: respect for institutions, service to the community, care for the common good.
The blessing at the Sacello della Madonna del Grappa, a place dear to tradition and the memory of the fallen, ideally links sacrifice, history, and civic education.
The ANPd’I Section of Bassano has best interpreted its mission as a link between the military world and civil society, bringing memory and identity into the classrooms. The delivery of the Tricolor thus becomes a passing of the baton: it is up to the young people to keep alive and renew those values.
Thanks to Remondini
The ANPDI also expressed on its official website heartfelt thanks to the Principal and the management of the “A. Remondini” Institute for their hospitality and cooperation. Opening the school to moments like this means recognizing that civic education does not end in class hours: it grows with gestures, with encounters, with shared symbols.
A gesture looking forward
The delivery of the flag is also an invitation: to transform memory into a project. For teachers, a living educational resource; for students, a call to be aware citizens; for the ANPd’I, the confirmation of a social role that unites— with a sober and concrete style—military history and civic commitment.
In Bassano del Grappa, the Tricolor entering Remondini is more than a banner: it is a promise between generations, sewn with discipline, service, and love for Italy.
