In orbit, the first satellite that will collect defense data for a future constellation.Meanwhile, the Turin-based company is looking to the capital markets and a Nasdaq listing: CEO David Avino — a former Captain in the 185° Reggimento Ricognizione Acquisizione Obiettivi (RAO) "Folgore" — outlines the prospects for record growth driven by an entirely in-house business model and Italian capital.
Argotec, the Turin-based aerospace company specializing in microsatellites and fresh from a strategic agreement with German defense giant Rheinmetall, is looking with increasing seriousness to the capital markets and new investors to accelerate its global expansion.
The company’s financial results point to an extraordinary industrial transformation:
  • Record 2025 revenue: revenue surged +60% to 57 million euros (compared with 35.4 million in 2024), with the prospect of reaching 100 million euros.
  • Record profitability and EBITDA: EBITDA reached 28% (more than 16 million euros), demonstrating the exceptional financial strength of a profitable company capable of generating cash from day one.
  • Capital raising and investors: a plan has been launched to raise 100 million euros from new investors to compete in an increasingly competitive global market.
  • Workforce growth: the company has surpassed 250 employees (with nearly 70 open positions), aiming to reach a total of 400 employees in Italy and the U.S. between the end of the year and early 2027.
«We have always been an atypical company, profitable from day one despite the many millions invested,» explains David Avino, the company’s CEO and co-founder, who leads the firm with the discipline and rigor stemming from his previous service as a Captain in the 185° Reggimento Paracadutisti.
Asked about a possible Nasdaq listing, Avino confirmed the strategic interest in the U.S.: «The United States represents a larger market for us and one where we intend to grow.»In addition to its Los Angeles hub for advanced telecommunications solutions, Argotec has opened its manufacturing facility in Melbourne, Florida (near Cape Canaveral), where a further $30 million in investments is planned.

The alliance with Rheinmetall and the sentinels of space

L’The agreement with Rheinmetall has placed into orbit the first satellite in a constellation dedicated to military surveillance and air defense, with a second launch scheduled for 2028.
«Having a partner like Rheinmetall, Europe’s most important defense company, is a major success for us. There are highly significant opportunities in the pipeline for both Italy and Germany», Avino notes.
The satellites will operate as a network of true space sentinels, turning data into strategic intelligence to support decision-making processes aimed at preventing and anticipating potential threats.Autonomous navigation and target identification technologies matured during NASA deep-space missions now find direct application in the defense sector as well.

Artificial Intelligence and in-house industrial production

Data processing leverages edge computing and artificial intelligence systems directly onboard the platforms:
  • Machine Learning in space: applications analyze and process data in orbit to provide ground stations with information ready for use.
  • Central human control: final interpretation and strategic decisions always remain the responsibility of humans.
The entire production chain follows a fully in-house model: raw material (aluminum) enters the plant, and completed, tested satellites emerge. At the SpacePark in San Mauro Torinese (12,000 square meters inaugurated in 2024), production capacity has moved beyond the artisanal scale and is targeting an industrial rate of one satellite per week (on standard platforms up to 350 kg), enabling participation in approximately 20 launches in a single year.
Among the flagship projects on the horizon is the Henon mission (scheduled for 2027), which is set to travel as far as 27 million kilometers from Earth. This path of technological excellence began with iconic projects such as ISSpresso — the coffee machine developed with Lavazza for the International Space Station — and has now reached the forefront of European space defense and security.
