This ambitious <a href=\"https:\/\/brigatafolgore.net\/en\/nuova-componente-corazzata-italiana\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/brigatafolgore.net\/nuova-componente-corazzata-italiana\/\">modernisation plan<\/a> provides for the realisation of <strong>about 1000 vehicles<\/strong>divided into <strong>five variants and sixteen configurations<\/strong>to meet the broader operational needs of the Italian armed forces.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>A Modular Platform for the Battlefield of the Future<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.rheinmetall.com\/en\/products\/tracked-vehicles\/tracked-armoured-vehicles\/lynx-infantry-fighting-vehicle\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.rheinmetall.com\/en\/products\/tracked-vehicles\/tracked-armoured-vehicles\/lynx-infantry-fighting-vehicle\" rel=\"noopener\">Lynx KF41<\/a><\/strong> is not just a simple armoured vehicle, but a <strong>family of modular platforms<\/strong> which, thanks to a <strong>common guidance module and a flexible mission kit<\/strong>can be quickly reconfigured in less than <strong>eight hours<\/strong>. Possible configurations include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Infantry Fighting Vehicle (IFV)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Armoured Personnel Carrier Vehicle (APC)<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Command vehicle<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Recovery vehicle<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Armoured ambulance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>This <strong>extreme versatility<\/strong> results in a huge <strong>operational and logistical advantage<\/strong>allowing units to be adapted to the changing needs of the battlefield, all with a remarkable <strong>savings in running costs<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Unmatched Performance and Protection<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The <strong>Lynx KF41<\/strong> is designed to ensure an optimal balance between <strong>power, protection and mobility<\/strong>. Driven by a powerful <strong>850 kW (1140 hp) Liebherr engine<\/strong> and a proven <strong>Renk transmission<\/strong>the vehicle can achieve extraordinary performance while maintaining a <strong>power-to-weight ratio of 26 hp\/t<\/strong>even in the most armoured configuration from <strong>44 tonnes<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Its characteristics of <strong>advanced survival<\/strong> include a <strong>modular armour<\/strong> adaptable to different operating scenarios, with specific protections for:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Peacekeeping missions<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Counterinsurgency operations in urban environments<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>High-intensity peer-to-peer combat<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition, the <strong>Lynx KF41 with Lance 2.0 turret<\/strong> is set up for <strong>active protection systems<\/strong>capable of neutralising <strong>anti-tank missiles and RPG rockets<\/strong>drastically increasing the defence capabilities in the field.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Lance 2.0, the Turret That Changes the Rules of the Game<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>The offensive heart of the <strong>Lynx KF41<\/strong> is the new <strong>turret Lance 2.0<\/strong>an evolution of the proven Lance family. This turret integrates <strong>the Wotan 35 electric cannon<\/strong>compatible with Rheinmetall ammunition from <strong>35\u00d7228 mm<\/strong>and offers advanced protection for <strong>critical subsystems<\/strong>improving resistance to enemy blows in close combat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>A key element of the <strong>Lance 2.0<\/strong> is the presence of <strong>two flexible mission modules<\/strong>which can accommodate a variety of specialised equipment, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Rafael Spike LR2 anti-tank missiles<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Loose ammunition for non-line-of-sight attacks<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>UAV drones for advanced reconnaissance<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Electronic Warfare Systems (EW)<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Thanks to this configuration, a unit equipped with <strong>Lynx KF41<\/strong> may have a <strong>disproportionate impact on the battlefield<\/strong>dominating complex operational scenarios with unprecedented versatility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Regimental Assignment and Future Prospects<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Presumably, the <strong>Lynx KF41<\/strong> will be assigned to leading units of the Italian Army, including the<strong>11th Regiment Bersaglieri<\/strong> of <strong>Brigade Ariete<\/strong>as well as at <strong>1st and 8th Regiments Bersaglieri<\/strong> of <strong>Garibaldi Brigade<\/strong>. However, it remains to be seen whether the <strong>151st and 152nd Infantry Regiments<\/strong>together with the <strong>3rd Regiment Bersaglieri<\/strong> of <strong>Brigade Sassari<\/strong>They will be able to receive these vehicles, considering their history as mechanised units.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In parallel, the AICS programme also includes the replacement of the current <strong>C1 Ariete<\/strong> with <strong>132 new battle tanks based on the KF51 Panther<\/strong>armed with a <strong>120 mm cannon<\/strong> and a <strong>advanced fire control system developed by Leonardo<\/strong>.
