This was announced today by the <strong>Spanish Defence General Staff (EMAD)<\/strong> on its Twitter account - accompanied by original images of the close encounter - specifying that the operation took place in <strong>waters close to the Iberian Peninsula<\/strong> and resulted in the <strong>deployment of three military vessels<\/strong>: l'<em>'Audaz'<\/em>, the<em> 'Vig\u00eda'<\/em> and the<em> 'Serviola'<\/em>. The presence of Russian ships in waters adjacent to the maritime borders of Atlantic Alliance member countries has prompted several European navies to <strong>raise the alert level<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Spain, France, Italy and the UK, as well as the US naval forces stationed in Europe, are taking increasingly coordinated measures to <strong>tracking and discouraging<\/strong> the presence of Russian military assets in sensitive maritime spaces.
