The General Giuseppe Scuderiformer Commander of the 187th Parachute Regiment 'Folgore', received promotion to Division Generalthus reaching a new prestigious milestone in a career of excellence. Recently appointed Chief of Staff of the 'Vittorio Veneto' Division, he officially took up the post in November 2024, bringing with him a wealth of experience and expertise gained through years of service at the top of paratroop units.
Born in 1971 in Ischia, he attended the Nunziatella' Military School in Naplesgraduating from high school and then being admitted to theModena Military Academy in 1990. Assigned to the Infantry Force in 1992, he completed his studies at the Turin School of Application, graduating in Political Science, and in 1995 was assigned to the Parachute Brigade Folgore. He held numerous operational assignments between 1995 and 2005, including command of the 5th Parachute Battalion (2012-2013) and the 187th Parachute Regiment (2017-2018).
General Scuderi has completed advanced training courses including the Staff Course (2003-2004), l'Hungarian Staff College (2004-2005) and theAdvanced Command and Staff Course at the Joint Services Command and Staff College of the United Kingdom (2009-2010). He also holds a Master's degree in Strategic Sciences and a Master's degree in Defence Studies. He also gained extensive experience as a staff member at the Interforce Operations Command (2006-2007)the Office of the Chief of Army Staff (2008-2009 and 2013-2017) and as Liaison Officer with the 3rd (UK) Division (2011-2012). During his service at NRDC-ITA, he held the positions of ACOS J3 (2020-2021) and DCOS Support (2021-2022).
In September 2022, he assumed command of the NATO Rapid Deployable Corps Support Brigade in Solbiate Olona.
He has participated in numerous international operations and has been COMKFOR Chief of Staff in Kosovo in 2019under the command of the General Lorenzo D'Addario.
With solid operational and command experience, General Scuderi is confirmed as a leading figure in the Italian Armed Forces and NATO.
