The Chief of Staff of the Army, Army Corps General Carmine Masiellovisited the Vittorio Veneto' Divisionwhere he was welcomed by Major General Massimiliano Quarto. During the visit, General Masiello received a detailed report on the progress of the Multinational Division South (MND-S) and the preparation of the Division Command, which from 1 July 2025 will assume the role of Land Component Command within theAllied Reaction Force (ARF LCC).
After the briefing, the General met with the Division staff and military personnel from the 78th Command and Logistics Support Unit 'Lupi di Toscana' (Tuscan Wolves)addressing them with words of appreciation: "You have tackled NATO standards with determination, demonstrating professionalism and dedication. Recently, the Vittorio Veneto' Division successfully completed the NATO exercise 'Steadfast Dagger 2024', concluding a long process of operational evaluation (Combat Readiness Evaluation) that is indispensable for both its role within the ARF and its development as MND-S. However, training activities will also continue with intensity in the first half of 2025, a period in which the Division will be engaged in a cycle of exercises aimed at testing the ability to deploy the Command Post in different operational contexts. This course will culminate with the simulation 'Golden Lion 2025' and with participation in the "Steadfast Cobalt 25"crucial for the configuration of communication infrastructures and information systems.
The training challenges of the coming months will be decisive for the future of the Division as it approaches the milestone of activation as a NATO Command and the achievement of the Full Mission Capability (FMC).
